Privacy policy

How UNO Insurance collects, uses and protects the information you give us while getting a Workers’ Compensation quote at unoinsure.com.

Last updated: 21 August 2026

Who we are

UNO Insurance (unoinsure.com) is a self-serve quote-and-bind program for owner-only “Ghost” Workers’ Compensation policies for U.S. sole proprietors. Coverage is underwritten by Cimarron Insurance Company, the licensed insurer on every policy — UNO Insurance itself is not an insurer.

UNO Insurance runs on the Cennairus platform: once you leave the “disclosure” step of the wizard, your application, documents, e-signature and payment are handled by Cennairus’ shared backend (CoRisk-api) — the same system CoRisk, another storefront on the same platform, uses. This policy covers what happens to information submitted through unoinsure.com. Questions go to hello@unoinsure.com.

What we collect

What you enter in the quote wizard:

  • Business details — legal name, entity type, and your Tax ID (FEIN, or SSN/ITIN for a sole proprietor).
  • Owner details — name, email, phone, date of birth, NCCI class code and liability-limit selection.
  • Business and mailing addresses.
  • Answers to the underwriting questions, and any documents the wizard asks your state to require.
  • At checkout: card details are entered directly into Stripe’s own embedded form, and bank details into Plaid Link or a manual routing/account number field — neither reaches UNO Insurance’s own servers in raw form.

What your browser sends automatically: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed, and how you reached the site — kept to keep the site working and to understand which pages actually help people get quoted.

How we use it

  • To rate and quote your policy against the Cimarron program, and to generate the ACORD 130 application and policy documents.
  • To route your signature request through Dropbox Sign, and your payment through Stripe, Plaid and Audit1’s settlement rail.
  • To create and manage your My Account after a purchase, and to service the policy afterward.
  • To meet our and Cimarron’s recordkeeping obligations as a regulated insurance program — obligations that outlast the quote itself.

We do not sell your information.

Automated decisions & quoting

Your premium is calculated automatically from your state and NCCI class code against the Cimarron program’s published rates — there is no manual underwriter step for pricing itself. Eligibility (which states and class codes the program can write) is also checked automatically before a quote is shown. You can always email hello@unoinsure.com and ask a person to look at your application instead.

Cookies & analytics

We use a small, named set of cookies — nothing hidden, nothing that tracks you across unrelated sites on its own:

  • uno_session (essential) — signs you into My Account, 8 hours.
  • closing_token (essential) — a one-time capability token for the checkout you are actively in, 7 days.
  • uno-lang (essential) — remembers whether you chose English or Spanish, 1 year.
  • Analytics— Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, so we can see which pages help people finish a quote. Cookie preferences are enforced through Google’s Consent Mode: choosing “Essentials only” on the cookie banner turns analytics storage off for your visit.
  • Marketing attribution — if you accept cookies, a first-party _cen_vid id (90 days) lets Cennairus, the platform UNO Insurance runs on, recognize that the same visitor who clicked an ad or a link later requested a quote, so we know which marketing is actually working. It does not identify you by name until you submit a quote request yourself.

The first time you visit, a banner lets you choose “Accept all” or “Essentials only.” Clearing your browser’s site data resets that choice and the banner will ask again.

Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, and ask us to delete it. Some records — an issued policy, a signed application, a payment record — we and Cimarron are required to keep for a period set by state insurance recordkeeping rules, and we will tell you when that applies rather than quietly refusing. Email hello@unoinsure.com to ask.

Keeping it safe

Information travels encrypted (TLS) and is held on access-controlled infrastructure. Card numbers are entered directly into Stripe’s own embedded checkout and bank details into Plaid — neither ever passes through UNO Insurance’s own servers in raw form. No system is perfect, and anyone claiming otherwise is overselling.

Children’s privacy

UNO Insurance is a business-insurance product for adult sole proprietors. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page as the product changes. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date. Continuing to use unoinsure.com after an update means you accept the revised policy.
